Travel grants in fall 2023
Fifteen children and their families received a travel grant from the Special Children Travel Fund on October 28. The purpose of the fund is to offer children with special needs the opportunity to go on a trip with their families to a destination of their choice.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the fund, which has, from its foundation, made it possible for 740 families to go on a memorable holiday together. The idea for the fund is from Peggy Helgason, who has for many years volunteered at children’s facilities and hospitals.
The ceremony was at Berjaya Hotel Natura, where the children accepted the travel grant and received a gift from the fund and movie tickets from Sambíóin. The Flight Attendant Choir sang a couple of songs to set off the ceremony.
The Special Children Travel Fund wishes the children and their families happy travels and that they have a wonderful time together.
