Allocation in spring 2023

17 children and their families, around 80 in total, received a travel grant from the Special Children Travel Fund on the April 23, which marked the First Day of summer in Iceland. Around 725 families have received a travel grant from the fund from the beginning, and around 3,500 people have traveled through funding with the group. The fund celebrates a 20 year anniversary this year and today's allocation was the 35th one.

During the event, all the children received a film ticket from Sambíóin. The Eurovision 2023 representative for Iceland, Diljá, entertained guests with music, along with the Icelandair flight attendant choir.

Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair: "It's delightful to participate in good projects like Vildarbörn. The fund is based on an idea of Peggy Helgason, ergonomist, which now for 20 years has supported hundreds of families go traveling together and enjoy happy moments. We are very proud of the fund and thankful to our customers for their contribution."
